UWBS School Rep (Undergraduate): Davinder Bains

My name is Davinder Singh Bains and I am standing for the role of UWBS Rep. I am a first year BA Business Management student and I am enjoying the course. However, there are aspects of UWBS that can be improved.

I am suggesting improving three major areas affecting Business School students:

1) To make lectures overall a more interesting, enjoyable and interactive experience for students, whilst still being wholly educational. There should be a better understanding between what students desire as well as what is necessary from the lecturer.

2) To ensure that Business School students can play their respective sports on Wednesday’s due to no more lecture clashes. Being one of the only universities in the country who are not exempt to play sports on Wednesday’s is bound for change!

3) To allocate parking spaces for Business students. As you may be aware, City Campus will be the home for Business students from September 2011 and parking is a major factor for students. I intend to resolve this issue.

I also intend to address individual concern as well as the collective voice. Fundamentally, it is your Business school and your say should be adamant in the university’s decision-making. I want to be the person to ensure this is the case. I will be dynamically active within my role, promising you that I will listen to your queries, act upon them and respond with conclusive feedback.
