LSSC School Rep (Postgrad Taught): Tobias Haynes
“What Will I Do? What can WE do?”
Who Am I? Tobias Haynes- Final Year LLB(hons) law student (going on to study the postgraduate Legal Practice Course)
• I believe in the students’ voice being heard
• I believe in an informed student body- the entire LSSC student body should be intertwined- speaking up for each other- getting to know each other- from all disciplines
• Students should have access to appropriate staff wherever required
• We should be able to speak our minds and have an option so that we can do so confidentially should we need it
• Democracy is the structure of everyday life- so why not University life?
• Societies should be given greater impact and direct support through the LSSC- extracurricular activities and socities are core to the educational experience
• Online resources should be updated to meet with students needs as contemporary student life advances
• Greater resources should be provided to students- especially wherever students raise these issues
• Careers advice and support should become more personal and more open to all students
• For the next academic year- it must be established whether the Practical Solicitor & Counselling Society and the Bar and Mooting Society have replaced the traditional Law Society which did not operate this academic year- so postgraduate students are aware of the socities available to them and understand new societies operate the same functions as the traditional Law Society between them.
Kindest regards,
T. O. Haynes
