What experience do you have that will help you in this role?
I am currently a sabbatical officer and the main aim of my job is to represent students. I have been liaising with students well before my officer days. As an undergraduate student i have been part of a few societies in which as part of the student body we arrange student led events.
What made you want to nominate yourself for this position?
I want to attend the NUS conference in Glasgow and i want to be a portal through whom our students have a voice and are notice by the NUS to a greater extent than it is now.
How would you engage with students before representing them nationally at NUS Conference?
As i mentioned before i am currently working in a student representing role, which means i am talking to students on a daily basis. I feel due to my engagement with student so often, i am best suited to bring forward the 'student word', as i now have a long-term understanding of their issues.
Describe a time you created change or had a positive impact that benefited other people.
Last academic year i worked with a society comprising of over 100 students, where we gave a committee members opportunities to plan/ lead events, we were able to train them via activities. This led the society to be named the 'Society of the Year'. As an officer i am launching a few new campaigns.
