What experience do you have that will help you in this role?
I've previously been on two committees in societies as co-chair at the University and I am currently on the committee for a local bat group in Birmingham and the Black country as a secretary. Shows I am able to listen to various people's views and effectively put people's want in motion.
What made you want to nominate yourself for this position?
I am currently the course rep for MSc wildlife conservation and I figured going for the faculty rep position was another great opportunity.
What do you think is the biggest issue students face in your faculty and how would you try to help resolve it?
I think having experience in their field is the biggest issue, I would try to help students get opportunities to build this through the lecturers help or external organisations and making the students aware of this too. Plus relative trips/training on during career development week.
Describe a time you created change or had a positive impact that benefited other people.
I recently was involved in a mental health awareness course with the Wildlife Trust. Between us, we all benefited each other by being a person each of us could talk to openly, being at one with nature and for me, sharing my nature knowledge with others who were inspired then to learn more.
