I am Mohammed Naseem, currently studying for an LLM. Previously, I studied in Aircraft Engineering and obtained another Master's degree in Diplomatic Studies. With experience gained from working in large multinational companies and SMEs, I bring a wealth of expertise that will enable me to serve as an effective Student Union President and a voice for the students. Originally from Wolverhampton, it would be an honour to represent the students as the president of the University of Wolverhampton Student Union.
Manifesto
My goal is to serve as an effective president of the student union, leveraging my experience and implementing innovative ideas during my tenure. To effect change, I will collaborate closely with other vice presidents, fostering teamwork to execute our shared vision.
During my presidency, I aim to implement the following initiatives:
Support for International Students - I will introduce initiatives to assist international students in their transition to Wolverhampton, including orientation programs, events, and support with employment opportunities. I will advocate for their needs to ensure they feel welcomed and integrated into the community.
Vibrant Events Calendar - A thriving student union necessitates a lively events calendar catering to the diverse interests of our student body. I will collaborate with societies and organisations to host a wide array of events, encompassing cultural festivals, academic seminars, sports tournaments, and social gatherings. These events will foster a sense of community and belonging among students.
Inclusive Representation - I pledge to represent the diverse voices of University of Wolverhampton. Every student, regardless of background, ethnicity, gender, or orientation, deserves equitable representation. I will establish channels for open dialogue and actively seek input from all segments of our student body to ensure that Union decisions reflect the needs and aspirations of every student.
Student Rights and Welfare - I will be a staunch advocate for student rights, ensuring that every student feels safe, respected, and valued on campus. This includes addressing issues of harassment, discrimination, and unfair treatment. I will collaborate closely with university administration to uphold the rights and welfare of our student body.
Proactive Student Union - I am dedicated to making Wolverhampton Student Union one of the most proactive in the country. We will lead by example, initiating innovative programs, campaigns, and events that address the evolving needs of our student body. Through proactive communication and engagement, we will empower students to actively participate in shaping their university experience.
