About Us

At university it can be seen as an intimidating place, especially if you don’t know anyone when starting. Our aim is to bring the Sikhs together in a safe and social way.

Sikh Society

Faith. Community. Seva.

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Welcome to the Sikh Society at the University of Wolverhampton. Starting university can feel daunting, especially if you don’t know anyone at first — our society is here to bring Sikh students together in a safe, friendly, and social environment where lifelong friendships are made and faith is celebrated.

We aim to provide a space for students to connect spiritually, learn about Sikhi, and take part in events that promote equality, unity, and selfless service.

🌟 What We Do

  • Educational & Inspirational Talks – Explore Sikhi through in-house and guest speaker sessions.

  • Food & Social Events – Enjoy gatherings that bring the community together.

  • Langar on Campus – Our biggest event, offering free vegetarian and vegan food to all. Langar represents equality and unity, breaking down barriers of race, gender, and creed — a tradition blessed to us by Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj.

  • Kirtan on Campus – Experience peace and spirituality through music and prayer.

  • Collaborative Events – Partner with other Sikh societies locally and nationally.

  • Safe & Welcoming Space – A non-judgmental community for all, wherever you are on your spiritual journey.

🎯 Our Aims

  • Bring Sikh students together to share faith, culture, and friendship.

  • Promote understanding of Sikhi through education and seva (selfless service).

  • Create an open, inclusive environment where all are welcome.
