About Us

Organising student led activism at Wolverhampton university. Promoting socialist ideals and action on campus and in the community.

We are the Socialist Student Society, a student led society designed to promote discussion, collaboration, and especially action amongst socialists and leftists more broadly.

We universally support certain causes, such as anti-racism, feminism, and LGBTQ+ rights, but each member is free to decide for themselves the best route to achieve these goals. Our function as a society is not to police the beliefs of our members, but rather to try and form unity in action towards these causes, and at times engage in healthy dialogue to support this action.

As students at the University of Wolverhampton, our voice matters, and we are able to amplify our voices through working together, but also through the Student's Union. We can hold the University accountable for its flaws in dealing with diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially with regards to international and disabled students. We are also able to apply pressure on the University because of how it handles issues like climate change and Palestine, and encourage positive action towards our goals.
