About Us

Enhancing the student physio experience with CPD courses, mentorship, peer support, guest lecturers, and social events. Tailored to ensure future physio's thrive at university, placements, and beyond.

Formed in 2024, the Physio Society aims to bring cohesion across all year groups by improving engagement and interaction among physiotherapy students at the University of Wolverhampton.

The society is run by current physiotherapy students and is open to all Foundation Year, BSc (Hons), and pre-registration MSc students.

As a society, we aim to aid professional development by running a variety of formal and informal social, academic, and recreational events to improve relationships and connections between cohorts.

The objectives of the society include:

  • Improve and encourage relationships and the integration of physiotherapy students from the various degree pathways
  • Create a supportive environment where information can be shared for the benefit of all students and academic performance
  • Support its members by offering CPD opportunities such as sports massage courses to enhance networking and employment opportunities
  • Support the lecturing team with admissions and open days
  • ‘Sure Start’ resource packs to aid the transition to studying at university level and develop academic skills
  • Offer a mentorship programme that provides physiotherapy students with the support they need throughout their course – you’ll be mentored by a student in the year above so they can provide the most current and accurate advice and support as they’ve been where you are now

We also have a range of leadership members that are here to help and signpost you in the right direction should you need it.

The Physiotherapy Society is also affiliated with the CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy), meaning we have direct access to their conferences and other events for students to further their professional learning in preparation for their future careers.
