About Us

The Young Liberals society is dedicated to empowering students by fostering career development and political engagement. Through insightful discussions and networking opportunities.

The Young Liberals Society is the youth and university wing of the Liberal Democrats, committed to inspiring and empowering students and young people. Our mission is to foster political awareness, create opportunities for career development, and champion inclusivity and fairness. We prioritise students by providing a platform for active engagement, learning, and meaningful contribution to society. This society is focused on advocacy, education, and collaboration to ensure the voices of students and youths are heard both on campus and beyond.
Our first aim is to empower students to become politically aware, career-ready, and active participants in creating a just and inclusive society by facilitating student involvement through seminars, networking events, and skill-building workshops that align with Liberal Democrats values.
Our second aim is to provide a platform for students to engage with local and national political leaders, gaining insights into governance and policymaking and we will do so by hosting events with influential guest speakers, such as Liberal Democrats board members and Members of Parliament, to inspire dialogue and encourage political participation.
Also, we will promote student engagement in political activism and community development by organising outreach projects, collaborative activities, and visits to political gatherings, enabling students to drive societal change on campus and beyond.
