Bus Service Cancellation Information
The University of Wolverhampton has terminated their inter-campus free bus service as of 31st July, without consulting the Students’ Union or students. The SU strongly opposes this decision, emphasizing the service's importance for safe campus travel. Current students must now find alternative transportation, and incoming students who expected this service will be disappointed. This decision is part of the University’s financial cuts, with no replacement service proposed. The SU is gathering student feedback and is committed to holding the University accountable.
What’s Happened So Far
Since the announcement of the bus service cancellation, the Students’ Union has received feedback from over 130 students through our union survey, in addition to numerous in-person conversations expressing concern. In response, one student has organised a petition to reinstate the bus service and is leading a demonstration in Wolverhampton to demand its return.
