Women Students Representative

The Women Students Representative serves as a dedicated advocate for women students within the university. This role is essential in ensuring that the voices, needs, and concerns of women students are heard, respected, and addressed. The representative works closely with the student union, university and various support services to promote gender equality, safety, and empowerment for all women students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocacy and Support: Act as a liaison between women students and the university administration, advocating for their rights and ensuring their concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Community Building: Foster a strong, supportive community for women students by organizing events, workshops, and social activities that encourage engagement, empowerment, and peer support.
  • Awareness Campaigns: Lead initiatives to raise awareness about gender issues, promote gender equality, and address challenges faced by women students, creating a culture of understanding and inclusion within the wider student body and staff.
  • Policy Development: Collaborate with university departments to develop and implement policies that support women students, ensuring their perspectives are included in decision-making processes.
