To anyone reading this: You may feel alone right now, you may not have your friends and family physically around you - but you're not alone in this, we're all in this together! Every day is a day closer to things getting back to normal :)
My advice is try to avoid getting stuck in your head, stay occupied! Do things! Watch TV/Netflix, play video games, do exercise, go for a run. This is especially important for those of us who already struggle with anxiety.
Try picking up a new hobby, learn a new skill/instrument/language. Let's make the most of this situation

To Nursing Students,
Whether you are deciding to opt in or out of practice, or if you should book bank shifts to help out, this message if for you.
This pandemic has created many front-lines which require manning... go to the one that is right for you and your personal situation. Guilt has no place in your decision-making process - remove it and the decision will be easier. Please be kind to yourself during these unprecedented times.
Best wishes,
Ruth, School Rep for Nursing
I have found that the Calm App (which can be downloaded for free) is quite useful - there are soundscapes such as waterfalls, rainfall and streams. For me, 10 minutes of this per day has been a big help in getting my mind to relax. Might be worth a try
Look at it this way...
EVERYDAY IS PJ DAY!!!
Missing you all so much!
Nayia- School of Arts Rep
Just want to encourage anyone feeling pressured to do something productive with their time right now that it’s completely fine to do completely nothing. Being alive and taking each day as it comes is enough.
You’re doing amazing!
Hello from everyone in the Chaplaincy team, we miss you all, Sarah, Marie, Sonia, Abdul, Shyam and Father Mark
Thank you to the fabulous performing arts staff who have been constantly checking in with us and going above and beyond to make sure we are okay. Times are hard at the moment but make something good out of this bad situation. Keep creating, keep moving and more importantly stay safe and inside! Send love to your friends, write them letters, do quizzes, check in with yourself, try something new, binge a new series. Look after yourselves and this will all be okay soon. If you're ever struggling don't be afraid to reach out, we're all in the same boat here and we all need as much help as we can get. The days might be dark but the sun will always rise tomorrow. Lots of love, well wishes and happiness from Lottie xx
To anyone reading this: there is no right or wrong way of feeling at the moment. Whatever you feel is okay. Be kind to yourself. Take care, from the Doctoral College
Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...
And always look on the bright side of life
Keep positivity in your head, whatever comes. Connect with people, catch up with tasks you have been postponing. I ordered a small mini 1000 puzzles, keeping me well occupied in the weekends. Finally, you are getting time to prioritise yourself ~ Teeroumanee
